“This award is presented annually to the company that embraces diversity as an important initiative for themselves and the entire CENTURY 21 System” said Steve Roberson of CENTURY 21 My Real Estate, winner of the 2011 Diversity Award, during the presentation speech. “The doctrine that applies here is 'No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.'"
From numerous programs in place which have contributed to an increase in minority home ownership, foreign language services (including many bi- and multilingual agents), a corporate partnership with the Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and participation in AREAA, NAHREP® and C.A.R. Young Professionals Network, CENTURY 21 Award focuses on serving a very diverse marketplace and agent/staff base. Over 80% of all agents and 90% of staff hired in 2012 represent a minority. Special consideration and attention is given to the various religious and cultural affiliations of its staff, agents and community.
“We are deeply honored and grateful to receive this important recognition,” said Romero. “ Diversity is not an initiative for us, it's who we are.”
